My husband and I stayed at the Left Bank on the advice of a friend. We loved it. The room was modern, yet had a cozy, romantic feel. It was beautifully decorated, with a view of Notre Dame out the window. With the windows open, we could hear the bells. The bathroom was modern with plenty of counter space and good toiletries. No wash cloths, though, and no shower curtain or door, so it was hard to shower without getting water on the floor. The staff were very friendly and spoke multiple languages, so although we tried to speak a little French to be polite, they quickly switched to English for our comfort. The breakfast was mostly bread, cheese, and yogurt, but good. Tea and coffee were served at each table by a very friendly woman who also spoke several languages. The Odeon Metro station was only half a block away, and there were many shops and cafes close by. If we are ever lucky enough to visit Paris again, we would definitely want to stay at the Left Bank again.
